The Management                

 Shri R.F. Daboo Education Society is a prime educational society in the eastern part of the Tapi district catering educational needs of about 10000 students right from the pre-primary level to the post graduate level. It runs various institutions in Vyara town; one of them is Smt. R.P. Chauhan Arts & Smt. J.K. Shah & Shri K.D. Shah Commerce College. The society is wedded to provide education with social justice.

 

The college has been catering the needs of higher education in Arts & Commerce facilities for the last 43 years. From the year 2000-2001, it has included one more facility, the Bachelor of ­Computer Application (B.C.A.) (self-finance course).

 

The Institute

Department of K.R.P. Darjee Indo-American Institute of Computer Science is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University with an objective to provide excellence in Computer education and to prepare qualified computer professionals to meet industry standards. The institute has well qualified and experienced staff.

           

We run B.Com. (Computer Application & Computer Science) and courses to maintain our excellence in this field. The institute is also going to conduct classes of GKS in near future.

           

The institute is one of the few that is located in rural area of South Gujarat to provide excellence in education. We also arrange campus interviews for 6th SEM. students. Many of the students are well placed in the industry today. We also organize various events, days and seminars during academic year. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter college competition to remain competent and aware of trends of the field.

 

Infrastructure

The Campus

The Institute functions within the campus of Arts & Commerce College. The institute is located on the National Highway, so for everybody it is smoothly reachable. There is very good transport facility too. The campus is surrounded by a beautiful garden and lush green tree which enrich the beauty of the campus.

            Class Rooms

The classrooms are well furnished with modern equipments like OHP, Laptop to facilitate objective learning. The classrooms are designed to provide maximum interaction between faculty and students.

            Computer Lab

The institute has enviable Computer Lab., well equipped with modern technologies and softwares. It has 60 computers with free high speed Internet access to all students, to keep them aware of latest trends. The lab is also well furnished for interactive learning .

            The Library

The Institute has a library to satisfy the quest of reading for students and faculties. It also subscribes to newspapers & magazines of computer world to keep students in touch with latest trends and technologies. According to changes in syllabus the library is regularly updated with latest books and CDs.

            The Hostel

The hostel is located in nearby area of the campus. It is well equipped with furniture and healthy rooms. It is a real blessing for out-station students. Ladies Hostel facility is also available in campus.

About Bca

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a three year (Six semesters) full time degree course affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. Our BCA course is very popular with the students’ community because of its unique and most advanced curriculum which has been designed exhaustively and has been up-dated on the basis of demand of the industry.

This course equips the students with the necessary skills for taking on the ever-changing demands of a career in Information Technology. IT is an empowering technology, when rightly employed leads to productivity improvements and prosperity at individual, organizational, societal, National and Global level.

 Medium Of Instruction & Duration

Medium of instruction for the course will be English. BCA is a 3 years full time course. The Course is conducted on a Semester pattern with total of 6 semesters.

 

Admission Procedure

1)    General

1.      B.C.A. course is a full time three years Degree course of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat.

2.      There will be 60+10 admissions every year.

3.      Reservations for S.C./S.T./N.T./D.N.T./ and S.E.B.C. candidates will be as per the rules of Gujarat State Government.

2)   Eligibility

1.   The candidate seeking admission must have passed 12th standard (Under 10+2 pattern) examination from Gujarat State Board or an equivalent board of any state.

2.  He/She must have secured at least 40% marks preferably with subjects of English and Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics/Accountancy.

3.  Merit list will be prepared as per the marks obtained by students in H.S.C. (12th examination).

4. A candidate with Biology subject is also eligible. Engineering Diploma (After 10 + 3 years) holders are also eligible for 3rd sem. admission.

5. The candidates who have passed 12th Commerce with English are only eligible; however priority will be given to students of Statistics and Business Maths.

6.   If a candidate passing without Business Maths. Or Statistics doesn’t prove to be eligible for M.C.A., and then responsibility will be of the candidate.

             3) Application

1.   The Application form and prospectus booklet will be available on payment of Rs 150/- from the college office during office hours i.e. 11.00 am - 5.00 pm

2.   Admission form is valid for current year only.

3.   A passport size photograph, recently taken, should be affixed at the place provided for it.

4.   Photostat copies of all the relevant certificates should be attached in the following order.

            a) S.S.C. Mark sheet

            b) H.S.C. Mark sheet

            c) School Leaving Certificate

            d) Attempt Certificate

            e) Caste Certificate (S.C./S.T./S.E.B.C etc.)

Evaluation System

ü  The duration of the course shall be full time three academic years. Examinations for the B. C. A course will be conducted under the semester system. For this purpose, each academic year will be divided into two semesters.

ü  No candidate will be admitted to any semester examination for BCA unless it is certified by the Principal/Director that he/she attended the course of Study to the satisfaction of the Principal/Director.

ü  Candidates desirous of appearing at any semester examination of the BCA course must forward their applications in the prescribed form to the Registrar, through the Principal /Director on or before the date prescribed by the ordinances.

ü  No candidate shall be permitted to re-appear at any semester examination, which he/she has already passed.

ü  The marks for each Theory & Practical course and their distribution between Internal & External examinations on the basis of 30:70 ratios will be shown in the Teaching and Evaluation scheme.

ü  Each year shall be divided into two semesters. A candidate shall be allowed to join the even semester, of a particular year, irrespective of his/her result of the odd semester of that particular year.

ü  If a candidate fails in certain heads in any semester examination, he/she can re-appear in those heads along with subsequent semester examination.

ü  A candidate who fails, in not more than four heads of passing, in a particular year will be allowed to attend the course of the next higher year, but the result of the next higher year shall be withheld till the candidate clears all the heads of failure of the previous year.

ü  The standard of passing the B.C.A. degree examination will be as under:

To pass any semester examination of the B.C.A. degree, a candidate must obtain at least 40% marks in the University examination and 40% marks in the aggregate of University and Internal examination in each course of Theory and Practical, including project Viva, if any.

ü  Classes shall be awarded to the successful candidate at the end of Second, Fourth and Sixth semester examination on the basis of

(A) Aggregate of marks obtained by the candidates in external evaluation of the two semesters of that particular year and

(B) Aggregate of marks (internal | External obtained by the candidate in the two semester examination of that particular year.

ü  Award of classes at the end of each of Second, Fourth and Sixth semester examinations

(i) A successful candidate will be placed in FIRST CLASS WITH DISTINCTION, if he/she obtains 70% or more marks under both (A) and (B) above.

(ii) A successful candidate will be placed in FIRST CLASS, if he/she obtains 60% or more but less than 70% marks under both (A) and (B) above.

(iii) A successful candidate will be placed in SECOND CLASS, if he/she obtains 48% or more but less than 60% marks under both (A) and (B) above.

(iv) A successful candidate will be placed in PASS CLASS, if he/she obtains 40% or more but less than 48% marks under both (A) and (B) above.

ü  The class of BCA Degree shall be the class obtained by the candidate at his/her last year (Third year) examination.

ü  A candidate who fails in any semester can reappear in the subjects of failure/Full examination depending on his/her choice. However candidate appearing in the part examination shall not be entitled for any class and such candidates shall be placed in PASS CLASS only.

ü  A candidate whose term is not granted for whatsoever reason shall be required to keep attendance for that semester at the college.
